HCMC – Three Vietnamese citizens returning from Japan have been confirmed as positive for Covid-19, taking the total infections in Vietnam to 866 cases as of this morning, August 12.

The three patients, aged between 33 and 36, are two men and one woman.

The residents of Nghe An, Hai Duong and Nam Dinh provinces flew back to Vietnam on Flight VN331, which landed at Van Don International Airport in the northeastern province of Quang Ninh, on August 10. They were sent to a centralized quarantine center in Haiphong City upon arrival.

Their positive test results came out a day later and the three are now being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi City.

Among the 866 confirmed cases of Covi-19, 399 patients have recovered while 16 others have died.

Over 134,000 individuals are now under quarantine in the country, with 5,600 people quarantined at local hospitals and over 24,000 others placed under quarantine at centralized centers.
